HO’O PONOPONO

As we delve deeper and deeper into The Work, we find that subtle thoughts will penetrate our mind. Fleeting though they may be, they are being sent to you to transmute. They are little gifts. Your job is to look at them and not let them simply float through your consciousness and out the other side, but to take action upon them.

What do I mean by these subtle thoughts? They may be a brief image of a person you have hurt or misunderstood or has hurt or misunderstood you; or a thought of words you used toward someone or someone has used against you. They maybe an unhappy memory of an event that happened to you or that you caused someone else. Regardless of what they are, they all emanate from you. You understand the “Truth about the Self”, so you understand the undeviating justice that created your life and all these events. Now you must look at them, each, and own them.   For they are what created your world today.

This does not mean we beat ourselves up over it, or that we reject it out of hand because we couldn’t possibly be responsible for all these events. This is simply the application of the Law of the Triangle. As we take responsibility for everything planted in our subconscious and what it produces, we realize that we have the amazing power to transmute anything.

The following story sent to me by a dear friend  and may help you understand and within it a powerful little prayer to heal those parts of yourself that drew in these events.

HO’O PONOPONO PRAYER

~ Excerpt from “Amazing Grace”, by David Wolfe and Nick Good.

This prayer has come to me from three completely different sources in the last month. I wanted to share it with some of you. Ho’o Ponopono means loving yourself.

“I heard about a therapist in Hawaii who cured a complete ward of criminally insane patients-without ever seeing any of them. The psychologist would study an inmate’s chart and then look within himself to see how he created that persons illness. “

“As he improved himself, the patient improved.”

“How can this be? Well. The therapist used a Hawaiian healing process called Ho’o Ponopono. I had never heard of it, yet I wanted to learn more.”

“I had heard of taking full responsibility for what we do, but not what anyone else does.”

“The Hawaiian therapist who healed those mentally ill people would teach me an advanced new perspective about total responsibility. His name is Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len. This doctor worked at a Hawaii state hospital for four years. That ward where they kept the criminally insane was dangerous. Psychologists quit on a monthly basis. The staff called in sick a lot or simply quit. People would walk through that ward with their backs against the wall, afraid of being attacked by patients. It was not a pleasant place to live, work or visit.”

“Dr. Len said he never saw patients. He agreed to have an office and to review their files. While he looked at those files, he would work on himself. As he worked on himself, patients began to heal. After a few months, patients that had to be shackled were being allowed to walk freely. Others who had to be heavily medicated were getting off their medications. And those who had no chance of being released were being freed. I was in awe. Not only that, he went on, but the staff began to enjoy coming to work. We ended up with more staff than we needed because patients were being released and all of the staff was showing up to work. Today, that ward is closed. The million dollar question, I asked.   What were you doing within yourself that caused those people to change? “

“I was simply healing that part of me that created them." Dr. Len explained that total responsibility for your life means that everything in your life-simply because it is in your life-is your responsibility. In a literal sense the entire world is your creation. This is tough to swallow. If you want to improve your life, you have to heal your life. If you want to cure anyone, even a mentally ill criminal, you do it by healing you. I asked Dr. Len how he went about healing himself. What was he exactly doing while he was looking at the patient files? And he said, “I just kept saying, I love you, forgive me, I’m sorry, thank you.” That’s it? That’s it.”

Roxanne’s Prayer

Dear God,

I thank you immensely for giving me the opportunity to heal that part of myself which is (name of person), for we all are one. May, (name of person ) be healed, awakened, enlightened and protected. May all negative energies and vibrations depart and be transmuted into white light.

"I love you", "I am sorry", "Please forgive me", and "Thank you for being in my life".

My vision for the world and beyond is total love and peace.

With all my love to you God
